In six chapters, this publication examines the ramifications of the economic dilemma of Africa by tracing its origin, locating them in theory and attempting to provide some imperatives and recommendations for pragmatic policy reforms and programme implementations in Africa. Among other new contributions, it contextualizes the roles of China, the USA, AfCTA, the 4th industrial revolution, COVID-19, etc. in the construction of a New International Economic Order capable of supporting sustainable ‘independence’ in Africa.
